Where did Spring Go?

It's one of those days that you do the dishes just so you can keep your hands under cold water.

In other words, it's hot. Notably, not as hot as Mississippi and Alabama summer days can be but still hot. To save energy, we haven't turned on the A/C.  My husband isn't so happy about that. I'm used to suffering a bit in hot weather (my parents wouldn't turn on the A/C after either right before bed or if one of them just couldn't stand sweating anymore); however, he has grown in a much more comfortable home, where it's at least a bit cooler inside than outside.

Anyways, on a brighter note, his Paw-Paw gave us a little food money, and we used that to buy a little over two pounds of shrimp (about $14). We made four meals off those little buggers. Mmm. We grill shrimp skewers, made shrimp and grits, and boiled some for a low-country boil with sweet corn and potatoes (we made two meals out of one pot dinner). All in all, I think it was a good use of our money and made us feel a little special for a few days.

Well I guess it's off to a college softball game ($2 Tuesdays!). My husband gets in free since he's a student but we have to pay for me. Hopefully this evening will cool off.

Adios.

EDIT: Well that turned out better than planned.

First, some lady gave me a free ticket. Don't know why, but I'll take that any day of the week. =D

Sadly, my Alma mater didn't win but my husband's did. Funny situation, eh? Since it was a midweek game, we just sat where we wanted which were pretty good seats with no one sitting right beside us (I don't like being packed in).

Then after the game, we used his ability to get a to-go-box from one of the cafeterias to get me food. The best part though was getting free shakes from Arby's from receipts with survey codes.

Too bad the cool of the night didn't seep into our house while we were gone. So the A/C is on for a little while so that it will be cool enough we can at least sleep.

All in all, a good day. Sometimes that's all you can hope for.
